Richmond (Yorkshire) Constituency Labour Party
Since moving to Northallerton in 2005 Gerald, has been involved in local issues, including the Save the Friarage campaign. He married his long-term partner Doreen during Covid lockdown, they have five grownup children and four grand-children between them. His working life has been as an Healthcare Scientist in the National Health Service, working throughout the pandemic at the Friarage hospital.
Currently the Branch Secretary, Gerald is the face of Unite the Union at South Tees NHS Trust.
Local residents have selected Gerald to fly the flag for the Labour Party in Northallerton South ward, where he serves on Hambleton District Council (HDC). He will also be standing for the Town Council.
Gerald says: “ Elections to the new North Yorkshire Unitary Authority, give the electorate a chance to change North Yorkshire for the better.”
He added: “Re-focussing the councillors’ priorities away from dog mess and dustbins onto the future of improving our social housing provision, our public transport network, our children’s education, truly local health services and an end to the historic traffic mayhem that is preventing Northallerton growing in the way that it should.”
Time for change, from stagnant local democracy.
