Geoff Marron has been an active member of the Labour Party for 52 years.   He was the first councillor to represent Hemlington on Middlesbrough Borough Council in 1979.  He served on the Housing and Recreation and Amenities Committees.   He has also stood for the Labour Party on numberous occasions over the years when living in Nunthorpe.

He moved from Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough to a small village in North Yorkshire (Hambleton District) and served as a Parish Councillor for 14 years, including 11 years as Parish Clerk.   He was a major participant within village life.   He is now retired and living in the centre of Stokesley.

He is a retired refrigeration and air conditioning engineer who, along with his wife set up a successful company in 1985 based in the centre of Middlesbrough.   It still continues to be very successful.   He is a former school governor and chair of a school parent’s association.   Geoff has been a season ticket holder for Middlesbrough Football Club for thirty seven years.   He is married with three daughters and six grandchildren.”
